Overview & Objective

Breshirts started from a simple curiosity: What would it be like if I launched my own apparel brand?
I didn’t wait for permission—I jumped in. I researched YouTube videos on production, platforms to sell on, branding strategies, and apparel design workflows. I built the entire aesthetic around something personal: the colors of my hair—blues, purples, pinks, and subtle gradients that represented different parts of me.

What started as a small experiment quickly turned into a full visual brand, from bold logo shirts to typographic storytelling and full photoshoots with models.

Ideation

This project began as an exploration of brand identity through apparel design. I experimented with various elements, including color palettes, typography, layout, and logo placement to discover what felt most authentic. Inspired by the colors of my hair at the time, I tested bold gradients and visual symmetry to create a look that felt both personal and expressive. Ultimately, I chose a design that split my name across the shirt using those signature colors. I retained the diamond element to reinforce a sense of value and elevate the brand’s tone toward a more luxurious and intentional aesthetic.

After exploring different directions, I chose to make the shirt itself the brand logo. I used Procreate to sketch and split the shirt into geometric sections, then brought the design into Illustrator to experiment with color.

Final Logo & Execution

This is the final logo for Breshirts, combining both the brand name and apparel design into a single, recognizable mark. I chose to make the shirt itself the logo, using bold geometric color blocking inspired by the colors of my hair at the time. The type is set in Rosella, a decorative serif font that brings a sense of elegance and personality to the brand. Splitting the name “BRE” across the shirt and placing a diamond below it represents both identity and luxury, defining Breshirts as vibrant, personal, and unapologetically bold.

Photography

To bring the designs to life, I printed select shirts and modeled them myself with my mentor's help, Anthony McBorrough, as part of the brand’s visual storytelling. I researched different production options and discovered Contrado for initial one-off prints, which helped me test the quality and fit. For more affordable materials, especially for the hoodie, I explored Alibaba and sourced a manufacturer that could produce the look I wanted at a lower cost. These photos document not just the designs, but the full process, from digital concept to physical product, showing how I translated my vision into something real and wearable.
