MacKidsTV Overview & Objective
Served as a creative lead and illustrator for MacKidsTV, a children’s YouTube channel. Originated and developed video concepts, illustrated unique characters, and edited episodes designed to engage and educate young audiences. Managed the creative workflow from brainstorming through to final production, ensuring each video was imaginative and age-appropriate.
Objective: To create captivating and age-appropriate visual content that sparks imagination, supports learning, and entertains children, while collaborating closely with creative teams to bring innovative ideas to life for digital platforms.
Character Creation
To create engaging visuals for MacKidsTV, we aimed to develop cartoon characters based on the two boys who host the channel. I conducted extensive research into popular children’s characters across Pinterest, Google, and YouTube to gather inspiration and identify design trends. Drawing from this research and our collaborative brainstorming sessions, I illustrated custom character designs of the hosts using Procreate. The final artwork, including a unique background for the YouTube channel’s header banner, is showcased below alongside a video of my illustration process.

Content Creation
For content creation on MacKidsTV, we focused on popular trends and incorporated family vlogs, often featuring the boys’ dad and cross-promoting their TikTok account. My role included editing footage into engaging, shorter videos with upbeat music to keep kids’ attention, as well as designing bright, colorful introductions and visual assets to make each video eye-catching, fun, and age-appropriate.
Below is a sample thumbnail and a photo of the kids participating in a TikTok trend, along with the channel's videos. (Production was later paused as the client shifted focus to other business.)
